3. H. L. Bolley Photograph Collection H. L. Bolley Photograph Collection The H. L. Bolley Photograph Collection consists of lantern slides taken by Professor Henry Luke Bolley, Dean of Biology and Professor of Botany and Plant Pathology at North Dakota Agricultural College. Most of these images were taken in 1903, when the College and the United States Department of Agriculture funded a trip to allow Bolley to study the chief flax growing areas in Holland, Belgium, Northern Germany, and Russia. NDSU Captured on Glass NDSU Captured on Glass The NDSU University Archives presents views of campus life at the North Dakota Agricultural College dating from the 1890s into the early 1930s as captured on glass negatives. This sampling of images presents men’s and women’s sports: baseball, basketball, boxing, field hockey, football, gymnastics, soccer and track and field; campus events such as homecoming parades and floats, dances and commencement; campus buildings, classroom and laboratories; as well as views of student life, the Cadet Corp, and aerials. The entire glass negative collection consist of approximately 25,000 images with the major focus being activities of the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station from the early 1920s through the 1930s.
