DescriptionThe Doris Ulmann Collection includes some 6,000 glass plate negatives, 8,000 proof prints in albums, and 300 vintage prints. Doris Ulmann, (1882-1934), was a photographer in the Pictorialist movement who documented rural life in Appalachia as well as the intelligentsia of New York City during the 1920's and 1930's.
